CSC supports an active Supplier Diversity Program. This U.S.-based program reaches out to small businesses, and to large businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans and others of diverse backgrounds, to increase supplier diversity.
Our Supplier Diversity Program includes the following:
- Outreach and advocacy for small businesses and suppliers of diverse backgrounds
- Educating suppliers about CSC's procurement process
- Networking with and supporting community, government and business organizations that assist small businesses and suppliers of diverse backgrounds
Suppliers offering products and services for which CSC has requirements (see What We Buy) are encouraged to enter their information into the CSC Supplier Database by submitting a supplier profile.
In 2004, CSC received its second Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence from the Small Business Administration. The Eisenhower Award is presented annually to recognize "excellence in the use of small business suppliers and subcontractors." CSC also received this award in 1999.
In addition, CSC received the Environmental Protection Agency's Director’s Award for Excellence in Small Business Utilization in November 2004. The honor recognized CSC for awarding 99.2% of its subcontracting dollars to small businesses in fiscal year 2003 in support of EPA contracts.
In June 2005, the Veterans Administration, Center for Veteran Affairs awarded CSC the Champion of Veteran Enterprise Award for exceeding its service-disabled veteran-owned business subcontracting goal.
